Best WordPress Social Media Plugins for Engagement

Are you looking for social media plugins for WordPress? Do you want to engage with your audience on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, etc.?

There are tons of great social media plugins available for WordPress. But not all of them are worth using. In fact, most of them are just junk.

I’ve tested dozens of these plugins over the years and only a few really work well. In this post, I’m going to share my top picks for the best WordPress social media plugins.

How to choose between two WordPress Social Media Plugins?

Choosing between two or more WordPress social media plugins is like choosing between two or more cars: it’s a matter of preference. You need to consider things like how easy they are to use, what features they offer, which ones have the best support, and so forth.

I’ve been testing different social media plugins for many years now and in that time I’ve come across some very good ones and some pretty bad ones. So when I started writing this article, I decided to test out a bunch of popular plugins and see if any stood out from the crowd.

In the end, I came up with five plugins that I think are the best overall. They all have free and paid versions, open source, and are actively maintained by their respective developers.

Best WordPress Social Media Plugins for Engagement

Mentioned below are the five plugins that I recommend for getting the most out of your social media presence on WordPress.

Shared Counts

This plugin allows you to track mentions of your content on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Digg, Delicious, etc. It also lets you know who shared your posts on those sites.

The plugin has a lot of options and settings. For example, you can set up notifications for new shares, specify the number of times each mention should be counted, and even get an email notification whenever someone shares one of your articles.

You can also view a list of the people who shared your content and read comments left by other users. This plugin is definitely useful for keeping tabs on your social media engagement.

Social Warfare

If you’re running a blog about politics, religion, sports, entertainment, or anything else that might cause controversy, then this plugin will help you monitor the conversation surrounding your posts.

It works by tracking keywords related to your content and displaying them on your site. The plugin automatically detects whether a keyword is positive or negative and displays it accordingly.

For example, if you write a post about the Pope, you’ll probably find yourself being mentioned a lot on Twitter. If you write a post about abortion, however, you may find yourself being talked about less often.

This plugin helps you identify trends and keep tabs on the conversations around your posts.

Smash Balloon

This plugin gives you a way to add a “smash” button to your website. When visitors click on it, they’ll be taken directly to another page where they can leave a comment.

When someone leaves a comment, the plugin adds a little balloon to your site saying something like, “Thanks! Your comment was awesome!”

This feature is great because it encourages interaction between readers and writers. Plus, it makes it easier for people to share your content on social media.

Monarch

This plugin is designed specifically for bloggers. It provides a dashboard that shows you the performance of your posts over time.

You can also create custom dashboards based on specific categories, tags, authors, or dates. Monarch also offers several widgets that allow you to display certain information on your sidebar.

One widget lets you show the total number of views, likes, and comments on your posts. Another widget lets you see how many people liked or commented on your latest post.

Another widget lets you display the number of followers and friends you have on various social networks. You can also use the plugin’s built-in search engine to find more blogs similar to yours.

Sassy Social Share

This plugin is designed to make sharing links easy. All you need to do is enter the URL of the link you want to share into the Sassy Social Share box at the top of your pages.

Then, just select which social network you’d like to share it with (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+). Finally, click “Share.”

Sassy Social Share also includes some basic analytics tools so you can track how many people clicked through to your site from the link you shared.

The plugin also allows you to customize the message you send when someone clicks on the link. You can choose to include a short description of your site along with the link, or you can simply let people know what the link does.

Revive Old Post

If you’ve ever tried to update an old post, you know how frustrating it can be. Revive Old Post solves this problem by letting you quickly edit any old post without having to go back and change all the formatting.

Simply highlight the text you want to change, press Ctrl + F, type in the new text, and hit Enter. Then, click Save Changes.

The plugin also automatically updates the date and author fields whenever you save a post. This means you don’t have to worry about forgetting to update those details.

Better Click to Tweet

This plugin works much like the popular TweetMeme plugin. Instead of using images, Better Click to Tweet uses HTML code to generate a tweetable image.

For example, if you wanted to create a tweetable image of a cat, you would copy and paste the following code: After pasting the code, you can then replace the word “cats” with whatever you want to say.

Once you’re done editing, you can either preview the changes or publish them immediately. If you decide not to publish the changes right away, you can always come back later and finish tweaking the image.

The Verdict: Which plugin to choose from the ones mentioned above?

All three plugins are great options for increasing engagement on your blog. However, we recommend that you try out each one before deciding which one to use.

Each has its own strengths and weaknesses, and they may work better for different types of sites than others. For example, Monarch is best suited for sites that focus heavily on content creation. However, Monarch doesn’t offer as many features as other plugins, such as Sassy Social Share.

Similarly, Sassy Social Share is ideal for sites that rely heavily on social media shares. However, Monarch offers more advanced analytics tools.

Finally, Better Click to Tweet is perfect for sites that want to encourage users to share their favorite posts. However, it lacks many of the features offered by the other two plugins.

So, which should you choose? It’s up to you! We hope these reviews help you find the best plugin for your needs.
