How to update BuddyPress manually?

To manually update BuddyPress, you can follow these steps:

  1. Backup your site: Before updating any software on your site, it’s always a good idea to create a backup in case something goes wrong. You can use a backup plugin or your web host’s backup service to create a backup of your site.
  2. Download the latest version of BuddyPress: You can download the latest version of BuddyPress from the official website (https://buddypress.org/).
  3. Deactivate BuddyPress: Go to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to “Plugins.” Find BuddyPress in the list of plugins, and click “Deactivate.”
  4. Delete the old BuddyPress files: Using an FTP client, navigate to the “wp-content/plugins/” directory on your server and delete the “buddypress” folder.
  5. Upload the new BuddyPress files: Unzip the downloaded BuddyPress file and upload the “buddypress” folder to the “wp-content/plugins/” directory on your server.
  6. Activate BuddyPress: Go back to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to “Plugins.” Find BuddyPress in the list of plugins, and click “Activate.”
  7. Clear cache: If you have a caching plugin or service enabled on your site, clear the cache to ensure that the new version of BuddyPress is being used.

That’s it! You have now manually updated BuddyPress to the latest version. Remember to test your site thoroughly to ensure that everything is working as expected.
